Acting UQU President Receives Ambassador of Burundi

The acting UQU President, who is  the Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research,  Dr. Thamir bin Hamdan Al-Harbi received at his office in the university campus in Abdyiah on Sunday  Dhul-Qe'dah 18, 1437H the Ambassador of Burundi  to the Kingdom Mr. Eisa Ntampok, to discuss aspects of cooperation on scholarship students of Burundi.


In the beginning of the meeting, the acting UQU President welcomed the ambassador of Burundi to the Kingdom at Umm Al-Qura University who is taking the pride of providing its educational mission to a number of Muslim sons from all parts of the Islamic world in Da'wa, Shari'a, Arabic Language sciences. He added that students who obtain excellent grade while studying Arabic language, are entitled to continue their studies in one of the colleges of the university to obtain bachelor degree in the specialties available to them in Arabic language & Literature, Islamic Shari'a and Da'wa and Islamic Theology.      

 
Within the same vein, he underlined that the university endeavors through the Institute of Arabic Language for Non-Native Speakers to teach Arabic language and literature for non-native speakers Muslims and provide them with a sufficient knowledge in Islamic studies to serve Islam and its dissemination, prepare specialist instructors to teach Arabic language in their countries, conduct researches and field experiments to develop curricula and Arabic learning methods for non-native speakers, besides organizing training courses for Arabic language instructors in the Islamic countries.

   
For his part, the Ambassador of Burundi lauded the Kingdom for its generous support and the due attention it pays to Burandiase scholarship students and to all students of the Islamic world who are studying Shari'a, Arabic Language sciences. He dubbed the visit as positive and introductory and that they have 70 students studying in the fields of Shari'a, Arabic Language sciences in the different universities of the Kingdom.


 Concluding, the Ambassador praised the good reception offered to them by the university and its positive cooperation regarding the scholarship students.
