President of Umm Al-Qura University Prof. Abdallah Omar Bafail received at his office at the university campus in Abdyia the Ambassador of the Republic of Liberia to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Dr. Brahima Diakti Kappa and the Honorary Consul of Liberia in Jeddah Mr. Ayman Al-Hilali. The meeting was attended by the UQU Vice President for Branches Dr. Abdul-Majeed Al-Ghamdi, Dean of the College of D'awa and Islamic Theology Dr. Faisal Ghazawi and the Dean of the College of Arabic Language Dr. Abdullah Al-Qarni.
At the beginning of the meeting, Prof. Bafail welcomed the Ambassador of the Republic of Liberia to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Dr. Brahima Diakti Kapp and the Honorary Consul of Liberia in Jeddah Mr. Ayman Al-Hilali and praised the support attached by the wise leadership to the educational programs of the university in such manner which contributed to providing university education in all branches of knowledge for the sons of this nation besides providing the educational opportunities for the sons of the Islamic nation enrolled in the university through the program of the Arabic Language Institute for No-Native Speakers and the colleges of Sharia and Arabic Language. He then wished them all success.
For his part, the Liberian Ambassador to the Kingdom expressed his thanks and appreciation to the UQU President Prof. Bafail for the good reception and said that the Liberian government and president Mr. George Weah are very keen to boost relations between Liberia and Saudi Arabia in the educational fields to achieve the objectives of the scientific and Islamic cooperation, in general, saying that education is the top priority of the current Liberian government.
He added that the Liberian government desires to expand cooperation horizons to beyond study scholarships to include the launching of educational programs between Umm Al-Qura university and the different Liberian universities stressing the importance of organizing educational and training symposia in Liberia to boost cooperation between the educational institutions in the countries given the high-quality outcomes of Umm Al-Qura University.
In turn, the Honorary Consul of Liberia in Jeddah Mr. Ayman Al-Hilali lauded the outcomes of Umm Al-Qura University saying that he had met with many figures in the Liberian community who are speaking Arabic fluently and occupying prominent religious positions in the Liberian government who are from the graduates of Umm Al-Qura University.
