The Deanship of Scientific Research has participated in the Scientific Research International Partnerships Conference held by the Ministry of Education in its headquarters in Riyad. The forum took place on Monday and Tuesday, 7 and 8 Sha'ban, corresponding with 23 and 24 April. Through organizing this event, the Ministry of Education seeks to implement its initiative to support international partnerships in scientific research. It is one of 24 initiatives the Ministry seeks to launch until 2020. The conference will be attended by a group of faculty members, officials from Saudi universities, and several researchers from foreign research bodies.

The conference aims to create cooperation and discussions on possible research alliances in subjects found relevant by the kingdom. Some of these topics include managing crowds, preserving the environment, petroleum and petrochemical studies, as well as cyber security, in addition to other topics.

The Deanship of Scientific Research, representing UQU, and Wadi Makkah Company, have both participated in the fair of the conference, which presented some outputs of UQU in the field of scientific research that managed to turn into start-ups.

Many national universities and some bodies that have research centers affiliated to them have participated in the fair. These bodies included King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST), Aramco, and SABIC.  The conference’s website online is: www.icc-ksa.org

The Deanship of Scientific Research was part of the Scientific Committee of the conference. It has also organized a visit by a delegation from the university representing researchers in the topics addressed by the conference, with the aim of providing researchers with the opportunity to receive research scholarships from the ministry in order to conduct research in cooperation with local and foreign universities.
