In order to promote awareness and health education, the Institute of Research and Consultation Studies (Girls Section) organized a training course entitled, “First Aid for Persons with Special Needs” on Monday-Tuesday, 9-10th Rajab 1439H, at the Training Room. The course was presented by Dr. Nahed An-Najjar and Dr. Lamiaa As-Sayyed, Faculty Members at the College of Nursing.
The course targeted the students at the Department of Special Education. It started with the definition of first aid and the objectives thereof. In addition, it demonstrated the specifications of the first-aid worker, the principles of first aid, and the contents of the first aid kit. Then, the concept of special needs, the method to qualify persons with special needs, the security and safety procedures and means required for persons with special needs, as well as the preventive ways against accidents were discussed in the course.
At the end of the course, all trainees were awarded attendance certificates. Besides, the lecturers were awarded certificates of appreciation, due to their beneficial presentation, wishing that Allah might grant them guidance and success!
