Vice President for Female Students Affairs Inaugurates Scientific Meeting (Future Educational Approaches in light of Vision 2030

Dr. Sarah Bint Omar Al-Kholi, UQU vice president for Female Students Affairs, on Thursday, 26 Rajab 1439 AH, corresponding to 12 April 2018, inaugurated the events of the Scientific Meeting, which the College of Education is organizing on 25-26/07/1439 AH at the girls section. It is under the title of (Future Educational Approaches in light of Vision 2030). It was in the presence of Dr. Hala Al-Amoudi, dean of the University College; Dr. Kholoud Al-Yousif, vice dean of the Graduate Studies Deanship; Dr. Abeer Al-Saba’an, vice dean of the College of Education; Dr. Bosaina Al-Ghamdi, vice dean of the College of Education for Graduate Studies; Dr. Kauthar Baljon, vice dean of the College of Education for Educational Affairs; Dr. Al-Anoud Muhdar, vice dean of the College of Education for Development, and the female vice deans and heads of departments at the college.

The meeting started with reciting verses from the Holy Quran, followed by a speech delivered by Dr. Sarah Al-Kholi in which she said: “Undoubtedly, education is the cornerstone of human development. Therefore, we must strive to preserve our values and identity as well as to promote and develop these values in the present and future generations by facilitating the means and providing all the skills and knowledge they need to meet the challenges in a society of constant change that is based on technology.” She added that: “We, at Umm Al-Qura University, must strive to adopt everything that is new and useful for the advancement of human cadres; bearing in mind the student who is at the center of the educational process so as to achieve the vision of our wise leadership –May it is supported by Allah.”

Then, Dr. Abeer Al-Saba’an gave a speech saying: "This meeting is organized upon the Kingdom vision 2030 that aims to achieve excellence and educational leadership eyed by UQU College of Education, which contributes to the construction of the community through the promotion of scientific mobility and integration between the scientific departments of the college on the one hand, and between the faculty members and students on the other hand. It also provides a scientific climate that contributes to the promotion of scientific research and encouragement of environment research- besides, the research cooperation between the female faculty members in the different educational disciplines, and gives opportunities to interact and exchange experience between the staff members of the college and the female teachers and supervisors from pre-university schools in Makkah.”

Dr. Al-Saba’an pointed out that the importance of holding this meeting is to encourage the outstanding scientific research for both faculty members and postgraduate students, and to focus attention on new research issues and topics that stem from the educational reality and contribute to its improvement and promotion, the development of the skills of scientific research among those engaged in educational research, and discussion of issues of priority in the field of education, the preparation and training of teachers, and access to the pioneering scientific experiences in the field of education along with discussing and defining them. In addition to that, it activates the integration and cooperation between the departments of the College of Education to attain its vision, and achieve community partnership through cooperation between the College of Education and pre-university education institutions so as to achieve the Kingdom vision 2030 of promoting education. She added that the requirements of scientific research in light of the Kingdom vision 2030 will be discussed during the meeting, as well as the education-related issues in light of the vision; giving attention to the contemporary educational trends from the perspective of scientific disciplines and departments.

Thereafter, the seminars and scientific sessions of the meeting were kicked off.
