The Deanship of Student Affairs, Umm Al-Qura University (UQU, concluded the programs and activities of female students in the academic year 1438/1439H. This was in the presence of Dr. Sarah bint Omar Al-Khouly (UQU Vice President for Female Student Affairs), Dr. Hala bint Saeed Al-Amoudy (Dean of University Studies for Girls), Dr. Kholoud bint Saad Al-Yusuf (Vice-Dean of University Studies for Girls for Educational Affairs), as well as Dr. Farida bint Muhammad Al-Ghamdy (Vice-Dean of University Studies for Girls). It is worth mentioning that the event was held at Al-Jawhara Hall, UQU premises in Al-Zaher.
Upon her arrival at the ceremony, Dr. Sarah Al-Khouly reviewed the projects of students, the programs of student clubs and the non-classroom activities.
In this regard, and in his recorded speech, Dr. Amr bin Taha As-Saqqaf, Dean of Student Affairs, hailed the efforts exerted by the Vice-Deans of Student Affairs for the benefit of students. In other words, he pointed out that student programs contributed to the development of students' abilities, care for their talents and occupation of their leisure time for their benefit. He also asserted that student activities were a substantial part of university students’ progress, as they gave them the opportunity to highlight their abilities and talents.
This was followed by the speech of Dr. Sarah Al-Khouly in which she welcomed the attendees and expressed her happiness with the innovative achievements of students. Moreover, she confirmed the significance of the role played by student activities in the educational process. In other words, student activities positively influenced the advancement of the academic level, the sharpening of purposeful experiences, and the development of students’ innovative skills and abilities.
In the same context, Dr. Sarah Al-Khouly stressed that such programs supported UQU students at the levels of intellect, culture and awareness. This was in the light of promoting comprehensive intellectual and national development in line with the Saudi Vision 2030. In addition, she appreciated the support and encouragement by Dr. Abdullah bin Omar Bafeel, UQU President, for all programs and activities presented by the Vice-Presidency of UQU for Female Student Affairs.
After the speech, the ceremony was launched with the folkloric epithelial operetta entitled, “Prestige of an Edifice.” Then, a play and a theatrical monologue respectively entitled, “Linguistically Ardent” and “A University Day” were presented. This was followed by the announcement of the results of UQU Role Model Contest "Season II," and the honoring of the first, second and third winners.
