The  male and female sections of the College of Public Health and Health Informatics launched on Monday Rajab 23, 1439 H a campaign to promote scabies awareness with the participation of the college dean Dr. Waheeb bin Dakheelullah Al-Harbi, the college vice deans and heads of the departments. The campaign witnessed also participation of 223 male and female students from the college. 

Meanwhile, the Dean of the College Dr. Al-Harbi said that the campaign is aimed at promoting awareness of university students and affiliates on scabies and provide them with the needed education in this regard. He added that the campaign also comes within the precautionary plans directed by the UQU President  Professor Abdullah Bafail for all the colleges of the university to help them avoid and control the disease. 

He went on to add that the campaign covers all university branches in Makkah and includes several educational and diagnostics corners on scabies and methods of disease prevention besides proper hand washing ways, prevention of microbes, and home safety guidelines to control and avoid this disease. 

He concluded that the college  keenness to launch this initiative proceeded from its effective role in raising community awareness about the risks of this diseases and ways of  disease prevention to control its spreading amongst the community members.
