President of Umm Al Qura University (UQU) and Chairman of Wadi Makkah Dr. Bakri Bin M'atoog Bin Bakri Assas, conducted on Wednesday Shawal 22, 1437 H, an inspection tour to first summer program organized by the company for UQU students and checked on the three tracks attended by the students, in the presence of Wadi Makkah PR Supervisor General, Dr. Majed Abdullah.
The students briefed Dr. Assas about the experiences and skills they acquired during their participation in the summer program at Wadi Makkah in its different tracks.
On his part, Dr. Assas said the program is envisaged to sharpen skills, talents and innovative ideas which help students to turn their patented ideas into concrete products and afterward these new ideas may be the core of new startups.
He reiterated the importance of training university students at Wadi Makkah Startup Center. "The training courses help students to convert their innovations into products under the Kingdom Vision 2030". They receive training about the transformation to the knowledge-based economy through innovation and entrepreneurship, he said, urging students to benefit from the expertise available in Wadi Makkah, and to sharpen their skills in a manner which benefits them to establish startups in the future.
It is noteworthy that the program accepted 66 students to receive a 7-week training course which was planned according to the trainers' schedule. The training plan includes the creation of modeling system, website and application designing, marketing, business development and programming, and allows students from all other universities to participate in its courses.
