A course entitled “Picture Exchange Communication – PECS System” was carried out in the training hall of the Institute of Consulting Research and Studies (female section). The course was given by Ms. Amal Al-Obaidi, Trainer, over Tuesday and Wednesday, Jumada Al-Awwal 20 and 21, 1439 AH, and it was attended by many female trainees.
Through the course, the Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) was introduced (definition, goals, and forms), as well as the PECS application and how it is employed for developing expressive and receptive language skills. The output of the course also involved the ability to evaluate communication skills and suitable boosts for children. This is in addition to training children on using PECS for expressing their emotions and for communication, besides the ability to find situations that stimulate children to communicate.
At the end of the course, all trainees received certificates of attendance certified by the Vice Deanship for Support of Professional Accreditation. Furthermore, the Institute of Consulting Research and Studies thanked the trainer for the useful presentation, asking God to grant her success.
