In Presence of UQU Vice President, “Heritage & Legacy” Festival Concluded

The “Heritage and Legacy” festival organized on 8th Rajab 1439H by the Deanship of Student Affairs, represented by its Vice-Deanship for Student Activities and Training at the Girls Section, was concluded on Thursday, 12th Rajab 1439H at Al-Jawhara Hall, the Al-Zaher-based Female Student Premises. This was in the presence of Dr. Sarah bint Omar Al-Khouli (UQU Vice President for Female Student Affairs), Dr. Hala bint Saeed Al-Amoudy (Advisor of UQU Vice President for Female Student Affairs and Dean of University Studies for Girls), Dr. Kholoud bint Saad Al-Yusuf (Vice Dean of University Studies for Girls for Educational Affairs and Development), Dr. Kholoud bint Muhammad Abunnaja (Vice Dean of Student Affairs for Student Activities and Training), Dr. Mona bint Muhammad Hajji (Vice Dean of Student Affairs for Student Support), in addition to the Assistant Deanship Vice-Deans, staff members and students.  

During the event, Dr. Sarah Al-Khouli reviewed the attached hereditary exhibition entitled, “Homeland through Our Eyes.” The exhibition aimed to revive popular heritage between the past and the present and included popular corners and interactive presentations that mimicked the heritage of the past and modernity of the present. Then, the ceremony prepared for this occasion began with a Quranic recitation followed by the Royal Anthem.  

This was followed by the recitation of a poem entitled “Our Leader Salman.” Then, Dr. Sarah Al-Khouli gave a speech expressing her happiness with such events that consolidated the legacy of popular heritage in a way that combined the preservation of the authenticity of the past with the adoption of developmental modern methods that were in line with our Islamic faith. In addition, she extended thanks to the Deanship of Student Affairs for its concern with the presentation of all that benefitted UQU students. She also congratulated Prof. Dr. Abdullah bin Omar Bafil on designation as UQU President according to the Royal Decree, wishing him guidance and success in service of UQU and its students and affiliates.    

In the same context, Dr. Kholoud Abunnaja gave a speech confirming the significance of the popular heritage revival plan by the current generations. She also stressed the necessity of enhancing heritage preservation despite time and events. 

Afterwards, a folkloric chanting entitled "Makkah, the Land of Benevolence" was presented and followed by a sign-language-translated poem entitled, “I am a Saudi.” Then, a singing operetta entitled “Our Land Is a Cloud High in the Sky” was performed and accompanied by a visual presentation on the KSA kings throughout history. 

At the end of the event, Dr. Sarah Al-Khouli and Dr. Hala Al-Amoudy honored all organizers of and participants in the festival with memorial shields and souvenirs.
