Design College Students Win Two Prizes at (Makkah’s Craftswomen 3) Fair

The President of UQU, Dr. Bakri bin Maatouq Assass, has met the Dean of the College of Design, Dr. Hisham bin Abdulrahman Maghrabi, and the Vice Dean of the College, Dr. Sohail bin Salim Al-Harbi, alongside with the parents of the two students who won prizes for their hand-crafts at the “Makkah’s Craftswomen 3” Fair, recently organized by the Makkah Chamber at the university campus in Al-Abideyah.

 Dr. Maghrabi said that the College participated in the work of 40 students in the fair. He added that student Darien Hafez won the second place and received 8,000 riyals, and student Mawada Khaled Maatouq won the fourth place and received 4,000 riyals. He noted that the college is seeking to build thinking and productive minds, in accordance with the highest standards of scientific research and quality followed in the educational process, while, at the same time, maintaining the identity of the society, the labor market and meeting their needs, with continued excellence locally and globally in the field of art and design.

 He praised the directives and the support given by Dr. Assass to the activities and events held by the college in the area of art and design. He also praised the interaction of students through their participation in the fair which had a significant impact on making the participation of the College of Design rather distinguished.

For his part, Dr. Assass praised the support the university receives by the wise Saudi government. He added that this support has contributed to serving the society through the work done by the students using the provided capabilities and educational means. He then congratulates the parents of the students who won the prizes at the competition, wishing the rest of the participating students' success and luck during the upcoming period, pointing out that this participation contributes to encouraging students to develop their artistic work to be presented to the labor market.
