UQU President Meets Chairman & Members of Technical Committee of Holy Mosques Projects

Dr. Bakri bin Matouq Assas, Umm Al-Qura University President and Chairman of the Supervisory Committee of the Grand Mosque Projects, met with Dr. Faisal Wafa, Chairman of the Technical Committee for the Grand Mosque Development Projects, members of the committee and a number of Saudi engineering working for the committee. This meeting was at UQU President’s office in the university city of Al-Abediya, and in the presence of DR. Hamza Ghalman, dean of the College of Engineering and Islamic Architecture.

 

Dr. Assas has lauded the attention of King Salman bin Abdelaziz, Guardian of the two Holy Mosques, and HRH Prince Mohamed bin Salman bin Abdelaziz, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense- May Allah protect them- to the projects of the Holy Mosques, whose budget is estimated at billions of riyals. This attention is paid by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia since its unification during the rule of King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman- May Allah rests his soul. He valued the directives and attention paid by HRH Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, Prince of Makkah, and HRH Prince Abdullah bin Bandar bin Abdelaziz, his deputy, to the committee’s work that is represented in providing safety requirements and ensuring the concrete quality.

The Technical Committee not only supervises the projects of the Holy Mosque, but also it qualifies the engineers participating in the committee according the highest quality standards through vocational courses and workshops that are internationally accredited, said Dr. Bakri. Moreover, the committee trained almost 700 students from Saudi universities’ engineering colleges since it started its work in the Holy Mosque.

Then, UQU President received the ISO certificate for the Laboratory of Precast Concrete Quality Testing at the College of Engineering and Islamic Architecture.
