The Future Entrepreneurs Center of Umm Al-Qura University’s Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurship concluded its investment program, for a group of intermediate and secondary school students from many of the provinces and districts of Makkah. This was in the training hall at Al-Balad Al-Ameen Schools for Gifted Students in Makkah. The program, which was carried out for training, education, and qualification, focused on the concept, importance, and risks of investment.
There was also a focus on learning about the characteristics of successful investors; making good investment decisions; investment in entrepreneurship; and innovative ideas. This was in addition to introducing the methods and types of investment. The students were further trained on the models used in evaluating companies. Moreover, the program showed examples of investors who achieved success in their investment journeys.
The program involved many proceedings and workshops for promoting the investment skills of participants; these were crowned by providing presentations of their investment projects at the end of the program. The program’s closing ceremony was attended by Dr. Mowaffaq Oreijah, Dean of the Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurship; a number of affiliates from the Gifted and Talented Department at Makkah Education Administration; and a number of parents of the students participating in the program.
They watched wonderful presentations given by the students on the investment projects they developed. These projects were the fruit of the knowledge and skills they acquired during the period of their participation in the program which lasted for 40 training hours.
At the end of the ceremony, the Dean of the Institute honored the participants and handed them the certificates. And in his guiding speech at the end of the program, he thanked and expressed his gratitude to His Excellency Dr. Bakri bin Maatouq Assas, President of the University, and Dr. Hani bin Othman Ghazi, University Vice President for Development and Entrepreneurship, for their continuous support to and thorough follow-up on the details of the initiative of “Establishing the Center for Electronic Training, Education, and Qualification in Investment, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship.”
It is one of the initiatives of national transformation that the University was selected to implement. The initiative was ratified by the Prince of Makkah Region – May God protect him – for participation in Makkah Cultural Forum which is held under the theme “How to Be a Role Model.” As such, the initiative can become one of the sources assisting in the building of the Saudi human, so they can help in fulfilling the Saudi Vision 2030.
