President of Umm Al-Qura University Dr. Bakri bin M'atooq bin Bakri Assas will launch on Tuesday Hisbah Scientific Conference under the theme of National Belonging and Intellectual Security organized by the Higher Institute for Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice during the period between Jumada Al-Awal 27 to 29, 1439 H, corresponding to February13-15, 2018, at King Abdul-Aziz historical hall at the university campus in Abdyia. The Conference will discuss 35 research and work papers with the participation of a number of government agencies from both civil and military sectors.
Meanwhile, the UQU President Dr. Bakri Assas lauded the support attached to the university by the wise leadership and its approval to organize this conference which will contribute to disseminating moderate Islam in line with Holy Quran and traditions of the Prophet (peace and blessing be upon him) away from the intellectual extremism. He indicated that the events of the conference will discuss the concepts related to Hisbah in Islam and their relation to the similar terms, Indications of Hisbah texts in the holy Quran and Sunnah, Applications of modern Hisbah in the intellectual security, Obedience for the governors of matter, Love for the home country, Building communities on compassion and fraternity for their protection and unity, the role of Hisbah in protecting the society from the intellectual deviation and confronting it, the fundamentals of Al-Ehtesab on the intellectual deviation and its modern applications, in addition to Hisbah and its role in achieving the psychological and social security.
He went on to add that the conference will also touch upon the role of the security bodies in promoting the national belonging and intellectual security, the role of the oversight institutions in promoting the national belonging and intellectual security, The role of the community upbringing: (family - mosque - school) in promoting the values of the national belonging and intellectual security, the efforts of the bodies working in promotion of virtue and prevention of vice in promoting the national belonging and intellectual security, the role of the advocacy and educational institutions in promoting the national belonging and intellectual security besides the role of media in confronting rumors and what disrupt the national unity via the different media and social media.
Concluding his speech, Dr. Assas praised the support provided by the Minister of Education Dr. Ahmed bin Mohamed Al-Issa for the programs and activities of the university. He also lauded the efforts exerted by the Dean of the Higher Institute for Promotion of Values and Prevention of Vice Dr. Yassir Al-Qahtani and the members of the conference's organizing committee in showcasing the conference activities in line with the scientific and research status of Umm Al-Qura University.
In turn, the Dean of the Institute Dr. Yassir Al-Qahtani reviewed the efforts exerted by the scientific committee who received 55 scientific research and work papers out of which 35 work papers were approved to be discussed in the scientific sessions via the four themes related to Hisbah concept in Islam, promoting values of loyalty to nation, the role of Hisbah in promoting intellectual security in the community and the role of the government sectors and social upbringing institutions and charity organizations in harnessing Hisbah in promoting for values of loyalty to nation and intellectual security.
"All participations including researches and work papers must be in line with the values and principles of Islamic sharia and the rules and regulations of the Kingdom and the topic must cover one of the themes of the conference accurately and directly according to latest developments in this regard and in line with the principles, the Kingdom Vision 2030 is seeking to achieve to help transfer the Kingdom to be amongst the ranks of the developed nations", Dr. Al-Qahtani expounded.
The Dean of the Higher Institute from Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice called upon those are willing to participate and taking advantage of the accompanying activities to register via the institute’s website pointing out that three training courses will be presented in the fields of methodology of designing training packages, threats of intellectual security and skills of dealing with suspected views. The training packages he added are prepared in line with the objectives sough to be achieved by the conference. He then lauded the support and directives of the UQU President Dr. Bakri bin M’atooq Assas to organize such conferences to contribute to protecting the youth of this country against the extremism. He also lauded efforts all workers in the conference’s organizing committees.
