President of Umm Al-Qura University and the Chairman of Board of Directors of Wadi Makkah Company Dr. Bakri bin M'atooq bin Bakri Assas met with the Chairman of Makkah Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mr. Hisham Kaaki and the members of the new council of the chamber during their visit to the Center of Startups in Wadi Makkah to discuss promising investment opportunities. The meeting was attended by the UQU Vice President for Development and Entrepreneurship Dr. Hani bin Osman Ghazi, CEO of Wadi Makkah Dr. Faisal Al-Alaf and number of the founders of Wadi Makkah Startups.

At the commencement of the meeting, Dr. Assas welcomed the Chairman of Makkah Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the accompanying delegation, and reviewed to them the  developmental steps which contributed to boosting the scientific, research and community role of Umm Al-Qura University represented by the UQU Vice Presidency for Development and Entrepreneurship in line with the objectives of the Kingdom Vision 2030 and the national Transformation towards knowledge-based economy. He said that Wadi Makkah is reckoned one of the fruits of such qualitative leap which yielded the Center of Startups stressing that the university endeavor to achieve excellence and leadership in its developmental, scientific, research and community steps under the support attached to it by the rulers and the significant attention paid to it by the Minister of Education Dr. Ahmed bin Mohamed Al-Issa. "That is to be added to its rich stock of highly qualified scientific staff", he expounded.  

In turn, the Chairman of Makkah Chamber of Commerce and Industry commended the qualitative lead witnessed by Umm Al-Qura University in supporting the march of creativity, entrepreneurship, and innovation via the UQU Vice Presidency for Development and Entrepreneurship which comes under the support and concern attached to education by our wise leadership.  

He further underscored that the visit of the members of Makkah Chamber of Commerce and Industry to the Center of Startups in Wadi Makkah is intended to check on the promising investment opportunities in the technology startups and the synchronization between Makkah Chamber and Wadi Makkah company by such means of creating effective partnerships serving the nation and having benefits to it.

For his part, the UQU Vice President for Development and Entrepreneurship and the Deputy Chairman of Board of Directors of Wadi Makkah Company Dr. Hani bin Osman Ghazi expressed his happiness over the visit  of the Chairman and Members of Makkah Chamber of Commerce and Industry to the Startups Center in Wadi Makkah to check on the available investment opportunities for the private sector investors in the technology fields indicating that Wadi Makkah Startups have become a magnet for investors for their innovative products. He also welcomed all investors looking to invest in Wadi Makkah startups and extended his thanks to UQU President the Chairman of Board of Directors of Wadi Makkah for the concern attached by him to Wadi Makkah and its startups.  

It should be mentioned here that, the Chairman and Members of Makkah Chamber of Commerce and Industry toured Wadi Makkah Startups Center and learned about the  Technology products provided by these companies.
