UQU President Hands out Effective Academic Leadership Certificates

President of Umm Al-Qura University Dr. Bakri bin M'atooq bin Bakri Assas handed out certificates of Effective Academic Leadership course organized by the Expertise House for Accreditation and Development Consultancies at King Abdul-Aziz University in collaboration with UQU Deanship of University Development and Quality and funded by Salem Bin Mahfouz Foundation. Present in the event were the UQU Vice President for Development and Entrepreneurship Dr. Hani bin Osman Ghazi, Dean of University Development and Quality Dr. Mohamed bin Jaafar Thabit, Director General of the Project Dr. Saad Al-Masoudi and CEO of Salem bin Mahfouz Foundation Eng. Mamdouh Al-Harbi.

 

On this occasion, the UQU President Dr. Bakri Assas stressed the importance of training and developing leadership skills of the faculty members and employees saying that training contributes to boosting administrative work system and providing trainees with many leadership skills and that organizing such programs and workshops will have many advantages on trainees work performance. He added that such programs come within the plans set by the university to qualify its leaders in line with the new phase. He then lauded the efforts exerted by the UQU Vice President for Development and Entrepreneurship  Dr. Hani Ghazi, Dean of University Development and Quality Dr. Mohamed Jaafar Thabit and all staff working with them for organizing such courses. It didn't escape his notice to extend his thanks to the Expertise House for Accreditation and Development Consultancies at King Abdul-Aziz University.

 

For his part, the UQU Vice President for Development and Entrepreneurship  Dr. Hani Ghazi said organizing such programs comes with the developmental plans set by the university administration to develop leadership skills of the university leaders in the different colleges, deanships and departments indicating that the UQU President was been very keen to organizing such programs and workshops and supporting training to develop skills of the university affiliates extending his thanks to UQU President for his lasting keenness and personal attendance and participation in such programs. 

 

In turn, the Dean of University Development and Quality Dr. Mohamed Jaafar Thabit said the program was held in four universities at the same time including; Umm Al-Qura University, King Abdul-Aziz University, Jeddah University and Taif University and lasted for four months. He added that 35 leaders from the mentioned universities enrolled in the program which included various workshops on leadership, empowerment, strategy, personal productivity, and leadership skills presented by a constellation of outstanding trainers. He then lauded the support and keenness of UQU President and UQU Vice President for Development and Entrepreneurship.
