College of Community Service Organizes Two Training Programs for 60 Employees of General Presidency for Two Holy Mosques Affairs

The Dean of the College of Community Service and Continuing Education at Umm Al-Qura University Dr. Khalid bin Yousef Barqawi has launched two programs to provide training for 60 of the employees of the General Presidency of the Grand Mosque and Prophet's Mosque Affairs including; the administrative staff and the guides in the Grand Mosque. The launching ceremony which took place at the college's training hall at the university campus in Abdyia,  was attended by the College Vice Dean Dr. Salem Al-Maqatti.

 


Meanwhile. Dr. Khalid Barqawi lauded the support and directives of the UQU President Dr. Bakri Assas for the programs provided by the college within the community partnership between the public and private sectors and the community in general. He said the first program will be carried out under the title of: "Skills of guidance and counselling for the workers in the Grand Mosque", and will be focusing on the basics and techniques of guidance and counseling, methods of collecting and analyzing indicative information in addition to Hisbah concept in Islam and the work in the promotion of virtue and prevention of vice. He pointed out that the program will last for 120 training hours.  

 

He further said that the other program will be carried out under the title of: " The effective behavioral skills for the administrative staff of the Two Holy Mosques" and will be divided into four training packages including; skills of effective communication, the art of successful human dealing, work ethics in Islam, good citizenship and the work in the Grand Mosques." He explained that this program is aimed at boosting communication skills in the Two Holy Mosques environment, ethics of profession, practicing ethical values and principles in the field of work, practicing good citizenship towards visitors of the country of the Two Holy Mosques besides a field training inside the Grand Mosque lasting for 30 training hours. "The program will be carried out in two groups", he expounded.   

 

Wrapping up his speech Dr. Khalid Barqawi said the most important thing is that the program is spiritually linked to the most holiest places for Muslims thus leading the college to provide  its utmost physical and human potentials to achieve the sought-after objectives by the General Presidency for the Two Holy Mosques Affairs represented in boosting workers behavioral skills besides boosting guidance and counseling skills for guides working inside the Grand Mosque through the scientific and practical materials provided for them.
