Ministry of Civil Services Approves UQU Higher Diploma for Family Counselling

 The Ministry of Civil Services has approved classification of the Higher Diploma for Family Counseling prepared by Umm Al-Qura University represented by the College of Community Service and Continuing Education within its educational plans and programs for its diplomas offered in coordination with the Ministry of Civil Service to be approved within the ministry's classified jobs. 


Meanwhile, UQU President Dr. Bakri Assas said classification offered by the Ministry of Civil Service to the educational programs carried out by the university within the approved jobs of the ministry comes as part of the cooperation and coordination between the two sides and to align the university outputs with the actual needs of the labor market in line with the objectives of the National Transformation Plan 2020 and the Kingdom Vision 2030.   

 

He added that Umm Al-Qura University adopts specific scientific standards to its prepared educational and qualification programs and plans indicating that the Higher Diploma of Family Counselling to be implemented within the diplomas of the College of Community Service and Continuing Education and all UQU Program are set to serve the national plans in this regard. 

 

He then lauded the cooperation of the Ministry of Civil Service in this aspect and praised the role of university colleges in general and the college of community service and continuing education in particular in setting the educational programs which contribute positively to the comprehensive national development and community service.  

 

For his part, the Dean of Community Service and Continuing Education College Dr. Khalid bin Yousef Barqawi said the UQU President Dr. Bakri Assas has ordered to swiftly complete necessary procedures of the Higher Diploma of Family Counselling after receiving the approval of the Ministry of Civil Service adding that the college will start implementing the program for those wishing to enroll in it from the coming academic year 1439/1440 H. He went on to add that the College of Community Service and Continuing Education will start implementing this program in collaboration with the Department of Social Work in the College of Social Sciences revealing that the Higher Diploma of Family Counselling will include two semesters of specific study hours.  

 

Wrapping up his speech, Dr. Barqawi extended his sincere thanks and appreciation to the UQU President Dr. Bakri Assas for his support and close follow up of all the educational programs carried out by the university colleges in general and the College of Community Service and Continuing Education in particular praying all to bestow success upon everyone to serve this country and its citizens.
