UQU President Launches Limited Polio Vaccination Campaign

UQU President, Dr. Bakri bin M'atooq bin Bakri Assas launched the limited campaign of vaccination against polio while giving the first vaccination dose to one of the children at his office at the university campus in Abdyia, in the presence of the UQU Vice President Dr. Yassir bin Suleiman Shoushou  and the Director General of the University Medical Center Dr. Yassir bin Hassan Bahakeem.   

 


Meanwhile, Dr. Assas praised such steps which reflecting adherence of the University Medical Center to its health responsibility stressing the importance of participating in all awareness events and activities which will contribute to educating the university community. He praised the role played by the University’s Medical Center thus reflecting the quality of medical services provided for the affiliates. He then wished all success to the center and those in charge of it and to the national campaign. He prayed Allah to protect the nation and its citizens from evil and to perpetuate health and safety for everyone.  

   

Meanwhile, the Director General of the University Medical Center, Dr. Yassir Hassan Bahakeem said this limited campaign for vaccination against Polio which targets children at age of 5 and below, comes within the framework of continuous cooperation and coordination between the Center and the Health Affairs Directorate in Makkah. He added that the University Medical Center participates in this campaign by providing vaccination for the targeted category within the visitors of the Center and that the campaign will be implemented in two phases each one will last for five days, the first one will start from Sunday Rabi Al-Thani 20, 1439 H until next Thursday whilst the second dose will be launched on Jumada Al-Awal 2, 1439 H.   

 

He explained that this limited campaign for vaccination against Polio targets children at age of 5 and below during the official working hour, besides the role undertaken by field teams of the Health Affairs Directorate in Makkah in this regard by visiting citizens in their residents to ensure providing vaccination for the targeted groups. He added that the center undertakes a positive role in the preventive aspects by providing awareness messages for all the affiliates of the university in particular and the community in general by  such mean of activating campaign and events to promote health awareness amongst all community members. 


 Dr. Ba-Hakim expressed his deep thanks and appreciation to UQU President, Bakri bin M'atooq Assas and UQU Vice President Dr. Yasser Shoushou for their continuous support provided for the Center  and for sponsoring this campaign in addition to closely following up activities and events of the University Medical Center thus contributing to the quality of therapeutic and preventive services provided for all students and affiliates of the university. He also extended his thanks to the center's team participating in this campaign.
