President of Umm Al-Qura University Dr. Bakri bin M'atooq bin Bakri Assas received at his office at the university campus in Abdyia on Wednesday Rabi Al-Thani 9 1439 H the Dean of Preparatory Year Dr. Saad bin Saeed Al-Ghamdi, vice deans,  and the deanship administration manager. Present in the meeting where he received the annual achievements report of the Deanship of Preparatory Year,  was the UQU Vice President for Educational Affairs Prof. Abdul-Aziz bin Rashad Al-Sorouji.  

Dr. Assas reviewed the report which shed light on the achievements of the deanship and its different vice deanships, statistics of the academic and administrative staff, different activities and events, training courses organized by the supportive academic units for its affiliates, the programs which reflect the effective role of the deanship in serving the university and the community of Makkah and underpinning spirit of community responsibility amongst its students. The report also highlights the outstanding works of the students which are source of a true pride for the deanship and the most significant proposals and suggestions which draw out a map to deanship's aspirations for the coming period in line with the university strategic plan and the Kingdom Vision 2030.  

Within the same vein, Dr. Assas lauded efforts exerted by the Deanship of Preparatory Year and its tangible fruits which supported the deanship to undertake its role as a linking point boosting integration between general and university education under the umbrella of the UQU Vice Presidency for Education Affairs led by Prof. Abdul-Aziz Al-Sorouji.  

For his part. UQU Vice President for Educational Affairs Prof. Abdul-Aziz Al-Sorouji  praised attention paid by UQU President Dr. Bakri Assas to students in the Deanship of Preparatory Year and his keenness in seeing the deanship achieving the sought-after objectives. He then lauded efforts exerted by the Dean of Preparatory Year  Dr. Saad bin Saeed Al-Ghamdi, college vice deans and all staff of the deanships, to serve all male and female students.  

In turn, Dr. Saad Al-Ghamdi valued professional follow-up and continuous support  provided by the UQU Vice Presidency for Educational Affairs led by Prof. Abdul-Aziz Al-Sorouji. He also lauded efforts of vice dean for the Medical Stream Dr. Azza bin Mohamed Banona and Vice Dean for the Scientific and Administrative Streams Dr. Aliaa bint Abdullah Al-Jundi in preparing this report indicating that such achievement would have not come to light without the  honest sponsorship and continuous follow up of the UQU President Dr. Bakri Assas to students in the preparatory year, praying Allah to grant them success.
