His Excellency the President of Umm Al-Qura University(UQU), and Chairman of the Supervisory Committee for the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Expansion Project of the Grand Mosque, Dr. Bakri Bin M'atoog Bin Bakri Al-Assas, launched on Sunday morning 22nd of Sha'ban 1437H at the lectures hall in the College of Engineering and Islamic Architecture, the summer training program organized by the technical committee, in the presence of the head of the technical committee of the project, Dr. Faisal Wafaa, members of the committee and the dean of the College of Engineering and Islamic Architecture, Dr. Hamza Ghulman. The program aims at providing training for the students of the college of engineering in the Saudi universities.
The head of the technical committee, Dr. Faisal Waffa explained in his welcoming speech to the participants that the program has been designed to develop their capacities and provide them practical courses in concrete and safety with one of the best construction companies worldwide, as well as training courses in engineering works. He added that during the training period students will be given international classified training courses, lauding the support and attention paid by HE the president of the university to the works of the committee.
On his part the dean of the College of Engineering and Islamic Architecture, Dr. Hamza Ghulman delivered several tips to the trainees including that they should be endowed with Islamic ethics and venerate holiness of the training area.
In a similar fashion, the president of UQU and Chairman of the Supervisory Committee for the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Expansion Project of the Grand Mosque, Dr. Al-Assas said that UQU is proud to take the honor of working in the projects of the grand mosque. “This is the sixth program of summer training which serves 16 universities in the Kingdom”, he expounded, saying that students have to venerate this work because of the holiness of the place.
He extended his thanks and appreciation to the advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Governor of Makkah HRH Prince Khalid Al-Faisal for the concern and personal support he is attaching to the technical committee.
Over and above, the member and official spokesperson of the technical committee, Dr. Wael bin Saleh Al-Halabi said that the training program this year includes 150 students from 16 universities and that it will last for 40 days distributed for 8 weeks. He pointed out that the training will cover concrete components, assuring the quality of the concrete, assuring the quality of the concrete execution, the ready-mix concrete, precast concrete, artificial stone, besides safety applications and professional health in the construction projects.
He indicated that the program will also include distinguished training topics, such as CV writing, preparation for the personal interview, employees’ rights in work regulation, safe use of computer and its applications, and skills of effective communication.
At the conclusion, he lauded the support and attention paid by UQU President and the close follow-up of the head of the technical committee.
