The University’s Director, Dr Baqri ibn Ma’atuq Asa’as, honored Talal Abudllah Almutairi, student at the college of medicine, for the excellence of his scientific paper. The paper is to be presented at the conference of the medical education European Association, due to be held in Barcelona, Spain, on August 27-31, 2016. The paper tackles the effectiveness of the students participating in the 1436 Hajj performers’ health program, with the attendance of the College of Medicine Dean, Dr Anmar Nasser, at his office in the university town, Ala’abdiah.

Almutairi expressed his happiness for the University Director honoring him, underlining that such honoring will be a push for showing more seriousness and diligence. He went on to point out that the paper has been accepted as a key verbal presentation at the medical education European Association, due in Barcelona, Spain, on August 27-31, 2016. The paper tackles the effectiveness of the college of medicine students participating in the 1436 Hajj performers health program.  The Program covered the Holy Sites, Makkah hospitals and King Abdul-Aziz International Airport. Over 400 students took part in gathering this information from all the college of medicine academic years. The paper surveyed the opinions of the participating students through scientifically-planned questionnaire, and it gauged the effectiveness of this participation on the medical education path in the College, and the possibility of applying the program in the next Hajj seasons.

Similarly, Almutairi pointed out that the paper recommended that the experiment be generalized in the “Holy Sites, Makkag hospital and King Abdul-Aziz International Airport”. This in turn will result in strong cooperation between the governmental bodies serving the Hajj performers on one hand and the College from another. He further noted that the key researchers of this paper are the College’s Dean, Dr Anmar Nasser; the College’s Vice-dean, Dr Hani Almualim; Head of the Medical Education, Dr Raniah Zain and otolaryngology surgery consultant.

The University Director called on students to capitalize on the capabilities and modern equipment which can help them conduct scientific researches and come up with patents serving the scientific research and knowledge economy. He also urged them to honoring the University alongside the world universities taking part in such events, commending the paper presented by the research team, which over 800 students participated in gathering its information. He finally wished the research team would exert more efforts.
