Dr. Bakri bin M'atooq Assas,President of Umm Al-Qura University signed an agreement for the designs project of Umm Al-Qura Consultancy Oasis with Dr. Wadee Barqawi, the CEO of Tilal Al-Namaa Real estate Investment Company, a subsidiary of Wadi Makkah Company. The signing took place in in Al-Abediya Campus, in the presence of Dr. Hani bin Osman Ghazi, UQU Vice President for Development and Entrepreneurship; Dr. Faisal Ghazawi, the Imam and Preacher of the Grand Mosque and the Dean of the College of D'awa and Fundamentals of Religion; Dr. Khalid bin Ali Al-Ghamdi, the Imam and Preacher of the Grand Mosque and a Teaching Staff Member at the College of D'awa and Fundamentals of Religion; Dr. Ali bin Mohamed Al-Shaari, the Dean of the Institute of Research and Consultation Studies; and Dr. Sahl Waheeb, the Vice Dean of the Institute of Research and Consultation Studies for Business Implementation and Development.
Dr. Bakri Assas praised the support given to the university by the wise government, which contributed to creating the proper educational and research environment at the university’s main campus and its branches in Jamoum, Al-Laith, Adhm and Al-Qunfudhah provinces. The UQU President highlighted that the UQU Consultancy Oasis project will be a specialized center in the fields consultancy and professional development that would be required by the job market, in alignment with the Saudi Vision 2030 and the National Transformation Plan 2020.
Moreover, he added that the UQU Oasis Project includes the Institute of Research and Consultation Studies, Risk and Crisis Management Center (SAFE), and Unit of Continuing Medical Education, which is considered as a part of the university’s initiatives to achieve the National Transformation Plan 2020. Dr. Bakri then lauded the follow-up and attention given by Dr. Ahmed bin Mohamed Al-Eesa, the Minister of Education, for the university’s efforts. He also praised the efforts being exerted by Dr. Ali bin Mohamed Al-Shaari, the Dean of the Institute of Research and Consultation Studies, and all the relevant authorities.
For his side, Dr. Ali Al-Shaari noted that the initial designs of the project include training halls, a virtual simulation for the Risk and Crisis Management Center (SAFE), the Continuing Medical Education Unit and a headquarters for the Institute of Research and Consultation Studies, which is considered the university’s interface to the local and regional community through providing consultancy services and research projects depending on academic expertise.
He added that role of interactive simulation was considered in the fields of training, medical and engineering qualification by rooting the concept of methods adopted in the engineering and medical facilities. He also pointed out that a training system of high efficiency and quality will be provided at the UQU Oasis. Dr. Al-Shaari praised the support and directives of Dr. Bakri Assas, the UQU President, which contributed to creating high-quality training environment.
