UQU President Checks on Readiness of the Applied Sciences College to Meet Requirements of the International Academic Accreditation

As part of the efforts undertaken by the UQU Vice Presidency for Development and Entrepreneurship represented by the Deanship of Development and Quality to make departments of chemistry and biology in the College of Applied Sciences achieve the international academic accreditation, President of Umm Al-Qura University Dr. Bakri bin M'atooq bin Bakri Assas paid an inspection visit to the facilities of the college to ensure that they meet the requirements of international academic accreditation. He was accompanied by UQU Vice President for Development and Entrepreneurship, Dr. Hani bin Osman Ghazi, Dean of Development and Quality Dr. Mohamed Jaafar Thabit, Dean of Applied Sciences College Dr. Waleed Altaf, College Vice Deans and Heads of the relevant departments.       

 

During his visit, Dr. Assas underlined the importance of providing the attractive educational environment for sciences, learning and the research process indicating that achieving the international academic accreditation by the departments of chemistry and biology confirms that the scientific programs provided by the College of Applied Sciences in these departments are in line with the international universities. He indicated that the visit of the delegation of the German Accreditation Agency (ASIIN) for International Academic Accreditation to the College of Applied Sciences comes to ensure that the college meets all requirements of international academic accreditation.      


Additionally, he said the university has taken advanced steps within its pursuit in achieving the international academic accreditation granted by the specialized international agencies in this regard, pointing out that the number of the university programs which obtained the international accreditation amounts to 27 programs in10 colleges and more five programs in the colleges of Applied Sciences and Engineering and Islamic Architecture are expected to receive the accreditation during the current academic year 1438/1439 H. He then lauded the efforts of the UQU Vice President for Development and Entrepreneurship Dr. Hani bin Osman Ghazi and his team working to make all the university programs achieving the international academic accreditation.

 

In turn, the UQU Vice President for Development and Entrepreneurship Dr. Hani Ghazi said the academic programs in the university are prepared in line with the requirements of the international accreditation from the international accreditation agencies and National Institutional Accreditation Commission.   He pointed out that they are currently embarking on providing training for 570  including faculty members, employees, and students in the fields of strategic planning. He then lauded directives and follow-up of the UQU President Dr. Bakri Assas in such manner which contributed to creating the proper educational environment in line with the requirements of the international accreditation and dissemination of quality culture in the university.
