His Excellency Umm Al-Qura University (UQU) President, Dr. Bakri bin Matouq Asas, has referred to the detailed purports of the speech delivered by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdul-Aziz Al Saud- May Allah protect him- during the inauguration of the first year of 7th Session of Shura Council; emphasizing that he clearly shaped the domestic and foreign polices of the Kingdom and put the record straight.
He mentioned that the speech focused on the significance of the Kingdom’s 2030 ambitious vision that set out the economic and developmental action strategy to provide a variety of income sources, to expand the recruitment of the nation youngsters, and to transfer technology; positively reflecting on the citizens welfare and the Saudis sophistication.
He said: the university system is run in accordance with the instructions given by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques; lauding his speech delivered in the Shura Council that underlined the state’s adopted procedures and constants represented in denouncing extremism and whoever follows it, emphasizing on combating corruption that constitutes obstacles to the construction, reconstruction and development efforts.
The detailed purports, he explained, have been distinguished by transparency and inclusiveness, and clearly addressed all the features and issues of both domestic and foreign policies. The first issues that the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques is keen on giving them his greater portion of attention are promoting the level of citizens’ welfare, providing decent livelihoods, and protecting their future as well as the coming generations from what threatens the national security and stability. He elaborated that the educational system will work on expanding different specialties and fields that the market is in need for, particularly both technology and engineering, in a way to contribute to transferring technology as well as providing qualified cadres of the nation’s young men and women, and to provide them with skills and knowledge necessary to the development requirements; achieving those instructions that aim at enhancing the national forces recruitment, and giving them the opportunity to prove their capabilities in all professions and jobs through strengthening them by education, training and providing an stimulating, appealing and stable environment to take the lead in promoting all the country’s fields.
His Excellency concluded that the King’s speech is marked by clarity in terms of not violating the basic principles on which the Kingdom was established, from adhering to the Holy Quran and Sunni Islam; focusing on moderation, and elaborating the Kingdom’s political significance and strategic pull in the international and regional environment, and its adoption of balanced policies and clear stances towards the issues of the Arab and Islamic nations as well as the crucial issues; whereas it stresses on its stance towards the Palestinian people’s legitimate right to establish their independent state and its capital “Jerusalem”.
