President of Umm Al-Qura University Dr. Bakri bin M'atooq bin Bakri Assas met with the new teaching assistants and lecturers of the university during a workshop organized by the UQU Vice Presidency for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research  represented by Scholarships Department today Wednesday Rabi Al-Awal 25, 1439 H to prepare them for scholarship at King Abdul-Aziz supportive hall at the university campus in Abdyia. The meeting was attended by the UQU Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research Dr. Thamir bin Hamdan Al-Harbi and the Supervisor General of Scholarships Department Dr. Ahmed Barqawi.

During the meeting, some former scholarship students made a detailed presentation on the steps and procedures which must be taken by the scholarship students in each country during their postgraduate studies. 

In his speech before the workshop, Dr. Assas congratulated the new teaching assistants and lecturers indicating that such introductory workshops will provide clear vision for the scholarship students about their daily life and study environment abroad in addition to learning about the legal steps and procedures which must be taken by them abroad.   

He urged everyone to be representative of his country in the scholarship countries and universities and show his commitment to noble Islamic ethics and values during his study broad besides conveying bright and true picture about their country praying Allah to bestow success upon them to serve their country and community.   

At the conclusion of the meeting, Dr. Assas honored the Supervisor General of Scholarships Department Dr. Ahmed Barqawi, Deputy Heads and staff of the Department.
