Under the sponsorship of Jamoum University College Dean Dr. Tawfiq bin Ali Al-Sharif, the College Vice Deanship at the females section organized an open day to provide awareness on diabetes, its symptoms and prevention methods. The day which took place at the college's lobby, was launched by the College Vice Dr. Hanadi Gamra in the presence of the female faculty members and college female employees and students.
On this occasion, the Dean of Jamoum University College lauded the support attached to the college by the Dean of the University Dr. Bakri bin M'atooq bin Bakri Assas thus contributing to creating proper educational and research environment in line with the highest standards and specifications.
Further, Dr. Al-Sharif indicated that participation in such events comes as part of the social responsibility the college endeavors to achieve to serve female and female students of the college and the inhabitants of Jamoum province and its neighboring villages. He pointed out that the college seeks to graduate qualified cadres in the applied and cognitive aspects in accordance with the evolving needs of the community and labor market.
Within the same vein, the Vice Dean of the College Dr. Hanadi Gamra said organizing such event is intended to provide health awareness about diabetes, its types, causes, symptoms, and methods of treatment and prevention. She added that on the sidelines of the event initial screening was conducted to measure blood sugar, weight and blood pressure. Additionally, she said a scientific lecture was organized to raise awarness of the college female affiliates in this reagrd. She then praised the support of the College Dean Dr. Tawfiq Al-Sharif and his encouragement to organize such events on regularly throughout the year.
In turn, the member of the teaching staff in the UQU College Dr. Safaa Yahiya Eid presented a scientific lecture on diabetes and its types. She outlined the health alternatives of diabetes and referred to the importance of eating vegetables and fruits which help in balancing sugar level in the blood besides sugar free beverages and the diets which improve balancing sugar level in the blood.
