The UQU President, Dr. Bakri bin Matouq Assas, presented the advisory commission with a draft proposal for receiving institutional accreditation. The commission which includes UQU vice-presidents, college deans, supporting deans and advisors shall examine the draft that covers UQU missions in light of the 11 standards for evaluation and institutional accreditation.
This draft presentation took place during the meeting of the higher committee for institutional accreditation which was chaired by Assas and attended by: Vice-president for Development and Entrepreneurship, Dr. Hani Ghazi, Vice-president of Educational Affairs, Dr. Abdulaziz bin Rashad Srouji, Dean of Academic Development and Quality, Dr. Mohamed Thabit, and representatives of the 11 institutional accreditation standards from vice-presidents, college deans and supporting deans.
Assas added that 70% of academic programs were accredited by international authorities (70% progress towards objective of institutional accreditation plan), noting that UQU aspires to obtain institutional accreditation by the end of this year 1439 H from the Public Education Evaluation Commission. He called upon academic accreditation officials to cooperate with UQU in order to receive accreditation within the set time.
In the same context, Ghazi lauded the support and directives of the UQU president and head of the higher committee for institutional accreditation with regard to progress towards obtaining institutional accreditation by the end of the year. He indicated that through the resources available, UQU has managed to break a record by obtaining academic accreditation from world organizations, noting that 30 programs were accredited.
