Dr. Bakri bin Maatouq Assas, President of Umm Al-Qura University (UQU) launched the initiative titled, "Improving Human Capacities and Resources in Scientific Research." The initiative was a winner at the National Transformation Program 2020, presented by the Deanship of Scientific Research at the end of last academic year. The event was attended by Dr. Thamer bin Hemdan Al-Harbi (UQU Vice-President for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research), Dr. Abdurrahman bin Ghaleb Al-Ahdal (Dean of the Scientific Research Deanship), Dr. Faisal Baruweis (Vice-Dean of the Scientific Research Deanship) and Dr. Muhammad Mokhtar (Vice-Dean of the Scientific Research Deanship for Groups and Research Centers).

After the event, Dr. Assas congratulated the Deanship of Scientific Research on winning such initiative. He added that, God Willing, the initiative would contribute to achieve the National Transformation Plan 2020, keep up with KSA Vision 2030 and enhance the level of scientific research. Moreover, he explained that the Deanship of Scientific Research was one of the research centers at UQU. He also explained that such distinction stemmed from the help of God in the first place, then from the support given to UQU by the wise leadership of KSA, God Save them!

For his part, Dr. Thamer bin Hemdan Al-Harbi extended deep thanks and gratitude to Dr. Bakri bin Maatouq Assas for his unending support for all programs and initiatives held by the affiliates of the Vice-Presidency for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research. He also appreciated the efforts of the Deanship of Scientific Research for the service of UQU researchers and academicians.
