UQU President Honors Computer Students for Presenting Two Projects to Haramain Presidency

The UQU President, Dr. Bakri bin Ma'touq Assas, honored the students of College of Computer and Information Systems, who presented two projects for Presidency of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque as part of the summer training program for the year 1437/1438 H. The students were present along the Dean of College of Computer and Information Systems, Dr. Fahd Al-Dousary, and the Head of Computer Engineering Department, Dr. Ayaman Al-Rahily.

Assas congratulated students for their effective participation and success of the two projects, which are to help serve the visitors of the two holy mosques, reiterating that such technical accomplishments of UQU students are attributed first to Allah's blessing and  their keenness to achieve excellence in serving the general public under the supervision of distinguished faculty members and the vice-deanships officials who encouraged the students to improve their level and bring glory to UQU in every field.

Further, Assas called upon students to maintain their success and continue providing scientific innovations in computer technology, bearing in mind that they are responsible as Saudis to fulfill the needs of the two holy mosques. He then reiterated that UQU lives up to its motto, "Student First" out of firm belief of the importance of the university's mission. Additionally, he called upon everyone to aspire to excellence utilizing their capabilities for the benefit of the homeland, wishing all success in academic and professional endeavors.

On his part, the Dean of College of Computer and Information Systems, Dr. Fahd Al-Dousary, expressed his appreciation for the UQU president for his support and encouragement to the college staff and students, noting that this honoring ceremony is a mark of Assas's keenness to serve students. He further explained how Assas's efforts contributed to the excellence of UQU academic system and motivated staff and students to raise UQU's name high, wishing everyone success.

In this regard, the Head of Computer Engineering, Dr. Ayman Al-Rahily, gave a summary of the two projects. He indicated that the first project included a database for the administration staff of the Presidency of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque while the other one is intended for preparation of cooperating sheikhs to offer religious lessons at the Grand Mosque.

Assas awarded the participating students for their positive role and excellence in computer science domain.
