UQU President Attends Closing Events of University Leaders Program's First Workshop

Yesterday marked the end of the first workshop of the University Leaders Program under the theme, "Effective Academic Leader". The event was organized by KAU Expertise House for Accreditation Consultation and Development with the support of Salim bi Mahfouz Foundation, and in collaboration with UQU Deanship of Academic Development and Quality. Present were UQU President, Dr. Bakri bin Ma'touq Assas, Vice-president for Development and Entrepreneurship, Dr. Hani bin Othman Ghazi, Vice-president of Educational Affairs, Dr. Abdulaziz bin Rashad Srouji, Dean of Academic Development and Quality, Dr. Mohamed Thabit, the General Manger of the project, Dr. Saad Al-Masoudi, the CEO of Salim bi Mahfouz Foundation, Mamdouh Al-Harbi, a number of UQU leaderships, and course presenter, Dr. Faisal Al-Idrissy.

Assas stressed the importance of training and leadership skills development for faculty members and staff, noting that it contributes to the advancement of administrative work system and equipping trainees with leadership skills to improve their performance. Further, he lauded the efforts of the Vice-president for Development and Entrepreneurship, Dr. Hani bin Othman Ghazi and all staff concerned with coordination of such courses and programs, and thanked the KAU Expertise House for Accreditation Consultation and Development for organizing the program.

On his part, Ghazi maintained that such programs are part of the development plans designed by the UQU higher administration to upgrade leadership skills of the UQU leaders across colleges and deanships, noting that the UQU president was keen to support those programs and workshops for UQU staff. He thanked Assas for his participation and supervision of the program.

In this respect, the Dean of Academic Development and Quality, Dr. Mohamed Thabit, indicated that the program is carried out simultaneously in the 3 universities: KAU, Jeddah University, and UQU for 3 days. The program includes various workshops on leadership, empowerment, strategy, and personal productivity. 30 UQU leaders benefited from the program, which was offered by 3 distinguished trainers and received special support from the UQU President, the Vice-president for Development and Entrepreneurship, Dr. Hani Ghazi, and the program team.

At the end, Assas awarded certificates to a number of participants.
