Computer Science Department organized a workshop on methods of building websites using “Dreamweaver’. This is intended to hone the students’ skills in Jammum University College, assert quality of the education process and meet the academic accreditation requirements. The Dean of Jammum University College, Prof. Faisal Ibn Abdul-Qadir Baghdadi; and the Acting Vice-dean of the College and the Head of the Computer Science Department, Prof. Yousief Ibn A’ayd Alotaibi supervised its organization. Professor Mohamed Mohamed Ala’adeeb ran the workshop for the male student section. And, Ms Samiah Mahfouz Albaroni ran it for the female student section.
Many academic staff members attended the workshop, and as close as 80 students took part in it. It extended for two days due to its importance in terms of boosting the students’ gains and its erudite scientific and applied content.
Still, the Acting Vice-dean of the College and the Head of Computer Science Department, Prof. Yousief Ibn A’ayd Alotaibi pointed out that such a workshop aims to build a website: a set of files alongside each other on an internet server or more. This in turn displays the content, with the interfaces included, to the end-user in the form of an internet page when sought. Such an internet page involves several items such as texts, links, mail and bitmaps among others of multimedia content. This is smoothly performed by “Dreamweaver”.
On drawing the workshop to a close, Prof. Yousief Ibn A’ayd Alotaibi underlined that organizing such hands-on workshops improve the students’ skills. And, it boosts the objective of the Department and College, that’s to say, advancing the educational process.
