UQU President Sings Agreement to Implement 3 Initiatives within National Transformation Plan 2020

President of Umm Al-Qura University Dr. Bakri bin M'atooq bin Bakri Assas signed agreement of the Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurships in the University to implement initiatives of the National Transformation Plan 2020 in serving researchers, innovators and entrepreneurs in the presence of the UQU Vice President for Business and Innovation Dr. Hani bin Osman Ghazi, Dean of the Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurships Dr. Wadee Barqawi, Supervisor of Intellectual Property Office Dr. Mowfaq Oraijah and the CEO of Wadi Makkah Company Dr. Faisal Al-Alaf. The meeting took place in his office at the university campus in Abdyia.

 

During the meeting, Dr. Assas underlined that the university will carry out  a number of initiatives related to the National Transformation Plan 2020 according to the Kingdom Vision 2030 in fields falling under the umbrella of the Ministry of Education including; education, creativity, innovation, activities and programs besides health aspects and entrepreneurship, in addition to upgrading teaching of English language, pointing out that a team work was formed to implement these initiatives. 


Further Dr. Assas lauded efforts exerted by all those involved in achieving these initiatives which are consistent with the directives of our wise leadership and carried out under the close follow-up of the Minister of Education Dr. Ahmed bin Mohamed Al-Ieesa.    

 

For his part, the Acting UQU Vice President for Business and Innovation who serves also as the UQU Vice President for Academic Development and Community Service Dr. Hani bin Osman Ghazi said his vice presidency works under direct supervision of UQU President to roll out all its initiatives in such manner which achieves objectives of the National Transformation Plan according to the Kingdom Vision 2030. He said a teamwork representing all colleges and deanships was formed and series of workshops were made and came out with more than 30 initiatives which were presented before the concerned authorities together with the initiatives of other universities in the Kingdom. He went on to add that the university won implementation of 8 initiatives of the vision themes as the first university to participate in achieving the requirements of the National Transformation Plan 2020 and the Kingdom Vision 2030 in the educational side.

  

Further, Dean of the Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurships Dr. Wadee Barqawi said that the UQU President Dr. Assas signed the agreement of implementing three initiatives  within the National Transformation Plan to establish electronic education, training and rehabilitation center related to investment, creativity, innovation and entrepreneurships for all categories of university students besides establishing center of training and rehabilitation of university students in fields of design, manufacturing and modeling in addition to establishing and developing  service system of student investors and increasing efficiency of the students startups.
