UQU President Launches Iqraa and Ijaza Program Building

On Wednesday, Ramadan 26, 1438H, the UQU President, Dr. Bakri M. Assas, launched the Quran Recitation and Licensing (Iqraa and Ijaza) Program building. The program is provided by the Saudi Scientific Association for Quran Sciences (Tebyan), affiliated to Umm al-Qura University (UQU), in Al-Aziziyah. The inauguration was attended by the board of directors of the Program: Dr. Yaseen Qari, Dr. Ahmed al-Hereisi and Dr. Ahmed al-Fereih, as well as sponsors of the program: Mr. Saeed A. Jad, and Mr. Ali al-Amri, in addition to a number of the UQU officials.

Dr. Assas listened to an elaborate account of the latest developments and major achievements of the Program. Besides, he was briefed over its plan for the upcoming period.

Dr. Assas expressed his admiration of what the Association provides through the program, and lauded the praise-worthy efforts leading to graduation of batches of Quran memorizers, in various recitations. He highlighted the substantial role played bin the Association, through the Iqraa and Ijaza Program, in collaboration with UQU, for taking care of the Quran, stems from the approach adopted by the Kingdom since its establishment by the late King Abdulaziz Al Saud, through to the present day, under the reign of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and HRH the Crown Prince, who have always shown keen interest in the Quran and its memorizers. Dr. Assas thanked the head of the Association's branch in the University, Dr. Ahmed al-Harisi, as well as the chairman, Prof. Al-Abbas al-Hazemi, for their unceasing efforts at the service of Quran.
