HE the Saudi Ambassador to France, Dr. Khalid al-Anqari, has paid a visit to the UQU and Makkah TechnoValley Corner in the "International Startups Fair: Viva Technology Paris 2017". The fair, held in Paris on June 15-17, 2017, is specialized in growth of startups, digital transformation and innovation. The ambassador was received by Dr. Faisal A. Allaf, Executive Director of Makkah TechnoVally, Dr. Saleh Basalama, founder of Averous Co., Dr. Abdullah Murad, founder of SoftCare Co., and founders of other startup companies.
The ambassador listened to an elaborate account of Makkah TechnoValley Company, its subsidiaries, and the role it plays in supporting entrepreneurship, embracing the youth, and supporting entrepreneurs to start up their small-sized companies, and have a stake in the market. That is to be added to the other services provided by the subsidiaries to Makkah TechnoValley Co., such as consulting services, training, publishing, printing, real estate investment, etc.
The ambassador, Dr. Al-Anqari, expressed his pride of the national technologies adopted by Makkah TechnoVally startups, and his pleasure for sharing UQU its participation in this international forum that brings together investors and entrepreneurs from all over the world, given that UQU is the sole representative of KSA in this forum.
The participation of Makkah TechnoValley startups in this forum stems from the keen interest shown by those who run Makkah TechnoValley in participating in such international fairs and forums; most notably Dr. Bakri M. Assas, UQU President and President of Makkah TechnoValley Co, Dr. Hani O. Ghazi, Vice President of UQU for Academic Development, Community Service Acting Vice President for Creativity and Entrepreneurship and Vice President of Makkah TechnoValley Co, and Dr. Faisal A. Allaf, Executive Director of Makkah TechnoValley Co. For them, the participation in such fairs and fora is of substantial importance, given that they are deemed to be an attractive environment to investors and clients, and an a prominent platform to draw attention to startups, hence allowing them to kick off at the regional and international levels.
For his part, the Executive Director of Makkah TechnoValley Co, Dr. Faisal Allaf, affirmed that Makkah TechnoValley participation in this forum, as well as the accompanying exhibition, is intended to highlight the scientific and technological advances that Saudi startups are witnessing. He thanked Dr. Bakri M.
