The UQU Higher Committee for Admission on Wednesday Ramadan 12, 1438 H held a meeting under the chairmanship of President of Umm Al Qura University Dr. Bakri Bin M'atooq Bin Bakri Assas in the presence of UQU Vice President for Educational Affairs Dr. Abdul-Aziz bin Rashad Al-Sorouji, UQU Vice President for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Dr. Thamir bin Hamdan Al-Harbi, UQU Vice President for Branches Dr. Abdul Majeed Al-Ghamdi, Dean of Graduate Studies Dr. Saleh Al-Firaih, Dean of Students Affairs Dr. Amro bin Taha Al-Saggaf, Dean of College of Community Service Dr. Khalid Barqawi, Dean of Admission and Registration Dr. Hashim bin Ahmed Al-Samadani, Dean of Information Technology Dr. Majid Al-Qathami and Deanship Vice Deans. The meeting was set to discuss admission arrangements and preparations for the academic year 1438/1439 H at the university's main campus in Makkah and its branches in Jamoum, Al-Lith, Adhm and Al-Qunfudhah for undergraduate level for the three streams of preparatory year program including; the medical, engineering and computer and administrative streams in addition to the direct admission program for the theoretical majors, college of applied sciences, department of Islamic architecture, evening preparatory and qualifying year programs and diploma programs through the colleges of community and community service and continuing education.
In this regard, UQU President said the university takes on early preparation and adopts all necessary steps every year to facilitate e-admission process via the unified admission portal for male and females applicants for bachelor level, diploma and preparatory and qualifying year according to a plan set by the UQU Vice Presidency for Educational Affairs and Deanship of Admission and Registration in collaboration with Deanship of Information Technology. He added that UQU accommodates more than 100.000 students of both genders in all scientific and theoretical fields and harnesses the latest e-serves in line with the vision and aspirations of the wise leadership lauding the efforts exerted by members of the higher admission committee and staff of the UQU Vice presidency for Educational Affairs, Deanship of Admission and Registration and Deanship of Information Technology.
Within the same vein, UQU Vice President for Educational Affairs, Dr. Abdul-Aziz Al-Sorouji said that admission committee works on annual bases to prepare all admission lines since an early time under the support and directives of UQU President Dr. Bakri Assas which necessitates harnessing all potentials and services for the applicants and facilitating all procedures for them, praising efforts of the UQU Vice Presidency for Educational Affairs, Deanship of Admission and Registration, Deanship of Information Technology and supportive deanships.
For his part, Dean of Admission and Registration Dr. Hashim Mohamed Al-Samadani revealed that this year they have introduced personal profile creation service via the university portal since an early time and that more than 12 thousand profiles were created so far adding that such step will not be considered as an admission request as the student must log into the portal and type his desires and select majors from Shawal 9 until 12, 1438, after determining admission desires, exams and interviews (for majors requiring them) will start from Shawal 15 to 19, 1438 H, after that results and nominations will be declared from Dhul-Qe'dah 1 until 5, 1438 H, while placement tests for the students admitted to preparatory year will start from Dhul-Qe'dah 21 to 23, 1438 H. However, he said that submitting admission requests of preparatory year and diplomas of Community College will start from Dhul-Qe'dah 14 until 20, 1438 H to be followed by declaring results, confirming nomination, and paying fees of the preparatory year from Dhul-Qe'dah 28 until Dhul-Hijjah 4, 1438 H. He called upon all male and female students to abide by admission deadlines, read admission directory and learn about the programs and colleges via the university portal and website of the deanship of admission and registration stressing that the university will not accept any admission requests after the connclusion of the announced period.
