On behalf of the Minister of Education the Chairman of UQU Council Dr. Ahmed bin Mohamed Al-Iesa, the President of UQU Dr. Bakri Bin M'atooq Bin Bakri Assas chaired the 4th  meeting of university council for the academic year 1437/1438 H on Thursday Sha'ban 22 , 1438 H, at King Faisal Hall in Abdyia. 

Dr. Assas, opened the session saying “All Praise is due to Allah, and peace and blessing be upon prophet Mohamed Bin Abdullah (peace be upon him), his family and companions. I am pleased and honored to open the 4th  session for the academic year 1437/1438H on behalf of the Minister of Education, the UQU Council Chairman. Welcome all of you, vice-presidents, deans, vice-deans and secretary general of the interim committee – acting for the Higher Education Council - our dear and honest colleague, Dr. Mohamed bin Abdel Aziz Al-Saleh”.

All Praise is due to Allah and peace and blessing be upon the master of the prophets and commander of the believers, Mohamed Bin Abdullah peace be upon him.

The council discussed several topics on the agenda of the 4th  session  including: 

•  A number of graduate students (MSc and PhD) were approved to have a further opportunity as per the recommendation of the council of the deanship of postgraduate studies.
•   Approval of hiring and re-hiring of a number of retired teaching staff.
•  Approval of secondment and lending of a number of teaching staff to work outside the university.
• A faculty member was approved to be transferred to another universities. 
• Approval of early retirement of two teaching staff members.
• Approval of Bachelor program in the Department of Information Systems, College of Computer and Information Systems.   
•  Approval of updated Bachelor degree program by the department of Sharia, College of Sharia and Islamic Studies. 
• Approval of bachelor degree program by the Department Of Electronics And Communication Engineering, Al-Lith University College.
• Approval of the bachelor Degree Program by the Department of Environmental Engineering, Jamoum University College. 
• Approval of the Bachelor Degree Program by the Department of Construction Engineering Al-Qunfudhah College of Engineering.  
• Approval of the Bachelor Degree Program by the Department Industrial Engineering, Al-Qunfudhah University College. 
• Approval of reformation of the Standing Committee for Scholarship and training for two years as of Muharam 12, 439 H.
•  Approval of appointing of two faculty members in the membership of the scientific council for two year starting from the first semester of the academic year 1438/1439 H. 
• Approval of appointing Sheikh Abdul-Aziz bin Humain Al-Humain as honorary chairman of the Saudi scientific society for Islamic Hesba Studies for a tenure of three years.  
• To approve delegation of the council powers to HE the Minister of Education, the chairman of the university council in the urgent matters during the summer vacation of the current academic year 1437/1438 H.

The council also discussed several academic and administrative issues on which the it has recommended taking necessary measures upon them as stated by the secretary general of the council Dr. Thamir bin Hamdan Al-Harbi.
