HE Umm Al Qura University Director sponsored, on Thursday, the graduation ceremony of Batch-64 of university students in Mecca and its branches in the governorate of al-Jamom, al- Layth and al-Qunfutha, for the academic year 1436/1437 AH. The number of students amounted to 8130 students in all disciplines and academic degrees. The ceremony was held in King Saud Hall in al-Abidiah, and was attended by university vice deans, deans, students parents, and a number of officials in Mecca.
It was started by the university march of the graduates, led by the deans. After being seated, the prepared rhetoric ceremony began by reciting verses from the Qur’an.
Then, HE University Director Dr. Bakri Ibn Ma’touk Assas delivered a speech in which he welcomed the Parents and the audience. His Excellency said: “It is a day in the memory of the nation, in which we celebrate the graduation of a batch of soldiers of determination and hope and builders of the future, as looking forward to building a promising future is achieved by a promising youth, under the wise leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman Ibn Abdulaziz Al Saud –May Allah protects him-, His Highness the Crown Prince, Prince Muhammad Ibn Nayef Ibn Abdul Aziz, and His Highness the Crown Prince of the Crown Prince Prince Muhammad Ibn Salman Ibn Abdulaziz, May Allah protects them.
His Excellency pointed out that Umm Al Qura University celebrates, in its sixty-four celebration, the graduation of a new batch of students who acquired learning in the best place on earth as a whole, so this has been and will always be a virtue to be remembered forever.
HE congratulated his sons of graduates for their efforts and determination to get learning and knowledge, to reach the harvest day. He also congratulated, on behalf of the graduates, university professors and teachers who deserve, after Allah, all the credit for the scientific achievement and practical experience the students got. He also congratulated each and everyone who played a role in university students services on all levels. He also asserted the fact that, without the concerted efforts of all, this success would not have been achieved for our sons.
On this occasion, His Excellency extended his sincere thanks to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Crown Prince and the Crown Prince of the Crown Prince - May Allah supports them- for their generous support and the due attention they pay to knowledge and students. He also expressed his thanks and appreciation to His Royal Highness Prince Khalid Al-Faisal Ibn Abdulaziz, the adviser of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and Emir of Mecca for his intensive follow-up to all programs and scientific, educational and community activities of the University and supporting them.
He also thanked the Minister of Education, Dr. Ahmad al-Esa for his permanent follow-up and continuous support, and thanked those in charge of Admissions and Registration Deanship, Dean of Student Affairs, and all university employees.
Subsequently, the graduates’ speech was delivered by Graduate Daifullah Al-Khazmari, from the College of Social Sciences, on behalf of the graduates, in which they expressed their thanks and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman Ibn Abdulaziz Al Saud- God bless him- for his patronage and generous and continuous support to the process of education in our country, which has contributed to the qualitative leap witnessed by education in general, and university education in particular. They expressed their special thanks, renewing obedience and loyalty to His Highness, the Crown Prince, and the Crown Prince of the Crown Prince -May Allah – and promising to be loyal to their homeland. They asked Allah Almighty to protect our country under the good leadership. They extended thanks to His Excellency the Minister of Education, Dr. Ahmad Ibn Muhammad al-Issa, and His Excellency Director of Umm Al Qura University Dr. Bakri Asas. They also expressed their thanks and appreciation to their parents for their support, advice and guidance, as well as their thanks to all those who supervised their education in this blessed university.
Then, Dean of Admissions and Registration Dr. Abd al-Majid Ibn Sa’ed Al-Ghamdi declared the overall results for the graduates, who reached 8130 students in this year; 75 students of PhDs, 319 students in the Masters, and 699 students of the Higher Diploma. Number of graduates in the Bachelor’s Degree reached 6817 students and diploma holders reached 220 students. He highlighted that this gathering of graduates comprises the first batch of students from the College of Dentistry, as well as the first batch of the Construction Department at the College of Engineering in al-Qunfozah. Finally, the graduates from the faculties of Medicine and Medical Sciences swore the oath.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, His Excellency Director of the University honored the recipients of the first degrees in this batch and received a gift commemorating this occasion.
