Media Department Organizes Lecture on Marketing Communication Concepts

Department of media at the College of Social Sciences held on Sunday Sha'ban 11, 1438 H a scientific lecture on the reality of marketing communication presented by a number of faculty members in the department. The lecture took place at the department's meeting hall at the university campus in Abdyia. 

 

In the commencement of the lecture, the faculty member in the department Mr. Mohamed Bukhari described marketing communication, its status amongst communication sciences, its role in the community and industry and its current status in Saudi Arabia and in most important global markets. He branded marketing communication as one of the latest sciences in the field of communication which attaches significant concern to its commercial side, and the relation of the commercial organizations with the consumer via different communication and media channels. He indicated that within its umbrella the marketing pattern includes marketing studies, ads, and promotion from a communication point of view in addition to the commercial and administrative points of views. Some of its schools also include public relations", he added.      

 

For his part, faculty member in the department Dr. Faisal Al-Shimairi indicated that companies  and trademarks started to adopt marketing communication only during the last decade and progress in this regard is moving slowly given that these companies have already adopted techniques and policies that can't be abandoned in an easy manner before having successful results and models on the ground in this field.  

 

It should be mentioned here that the lecture came within the series of lectures provided by the media department presented by a constellation of faculty members representing media department in different topics of interest for the specialists in this field. Such activities are intended to be a catalyst in developing the system of education and media thinking amongst faculty members and students in general.
