Umm Al-Qura University received the Full Institutional Accreditation Certificate from the Education and Training Evaluation Commission, represented by the National Center for Academic Accreditation and Evaluation. In a similar vein, the ‘Early Childhood’ program, the ‘Shari`ah’ program and the ‘Regulations’ program for the bachelor degree also obtained conditional program accreditation.

The UQU President, Prof. Moaddi bin Muhammad Aal Madh-hab, dubbed this achievement as one of the strategic goals of the university, which include objectives for the academic accreditation of the different universities. He pointed out that institutional accreditation is one of the main tools for upgrading the quality of the performance and outputs, raising efficiency and effectiveness, enhancing confidence in the outputs of the higher educational institutions at the local and international levels, and contributing to improve the ranking of the universities of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at the international level. He then extended his thanks to all the university affiliates, including UQU vice presidents, college deans, academic and administrative staff members, and the students, for the efforts they exerted in this regard. He congratulated them all on this achievement, saying that this success came to light with Allah's favor in the first place and then the support and attention given to the university by the wise leadership, along with the follow-up of the Minister of Education, Dr. Hamad bin Muhammad Aal Al-Sheikh, and His Excellency the Deputy of the Minister for Universities, Research, and Innovation, Dr. Muhammad bin Ahmad Al-Sudairi. The aim of all these efforts is to put Umm Al-Qura among the ranks of international universities.

On his part, the Acting Vice President for Development and Community Service, Dr. Ali bin Muhammad Al-Sha`iri, stated that this accomplishment will contribute to raising and developing the efficiency of the academic and administrative performance at the university, in line with the best international quality standards and practices. He remarked that the university obtaining institutional accreditation is a step towards accelerating the achievement of the university objectives and boosting its competitiveness among the different universities in such a manner which reflects its real image.

In this context, the Dean of Academic Development and Quality, Dr. Muhammad bin Salim Al-Zahrani, noted that this accreditation is one of the firm indicators that guarantee the quality of the education provided in the university; thus making Umm Al-Qura University one of the universities which adopt clear academic standards, stemming from the university's transparency and the strength of its educational outputs.
