The UQU Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, Prof. Fahd Al-Zahrani, launched the activities of the 91st National Day organized by the Deanship of Library Affairs, in cooperation with the College of Designs and Arts, at King Abdullah University Library under the title: “Our Knowledge Is the Key to Our Development”, in the presence of the UQU Vice President, Prof. Farid Al-Ghamdi. The aim of the event was to showcase the intellectual production related to the themes of celebrating this year's national day.
Moreover, Prof. Fahd Al-Zahrani inaugurated an exhibition for information sources, including the most important books on Saudi history and its leaders. This was in addition to the inauguration of the first edition of the electronic directory of theses and university research, arranged according to colleges, new services for beneficiaries that include reference inquiry services via WhatsApp, selective broadcasting of information services, and borrowing services in collaboration with King Abdulaziz University.
On his part, Prof. Fahd Al-Zahrani emphasized the role of the university's library in supporting scientific research and providing researchers with the necessary references that serve their research. He also referred to the role of providing sources of human knowledge to serve the different scientific specializations at the university, developing the library systems according to modern advancements in the field of library services and information, contributing to increasing productivity and diversity, and empowering researchers to publish and compete globally.
The UQU Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research was received by the Dean of Library Affairs, Prof. Khalid Maatouq, the Vice Dean for Technology, Dr. Hasan Al-Thubaiti, and the Vice Dean of Scientific Research for Development and Quality, Dr. Najwa Samraqandi. As part of the National Day activities of the 91st National Day, the deanship also provided a set of information sources for all library visitors at Al-Abdiyyah and Al-Zahir Headquarters.
