Umm Al-Qura University, represented by the Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, launched the "Innovate" program, which is specialized in disseminating the culture of innovation among the UQU students. The program aims to enable the students to create innovative ideas and set up pilot projects that suit the requirements of the labor market.
The Dean of the Institute, Dr. Rami Al-Futani, clarified that the program, which will last for three days, focuses on enhancing the culture of innovation on the part of the students, from when they first enroll in the university until their graduation. The program will also motivate the students to face challenges by coming up with innovative solutions and searching for entrepreneurial opportunities, under the supervision and follow-up of specialized academics. In addition, the students will be informed about the mechanism and fields of 3D printing.
The Dean of the Institute stated that the workshops of the program will enable the students to find their way towards innovation and will acquaint them with the basics of prototypes. During the workshops, the students will also learn about the experience of some pilot projects and the elements of their success. These workshops aim to clarify matters for the students in relation to pilot projects and help them discuss their ideas with specialists in order to implement them and benefit from the specialists' directives.
