The Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Prince of Makkah, His Royal Highness Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, witnessed the signing ceremony of the memorandum of cooperation between the Ministry of Health and Umm Al-Qura University in the educational, training and research fields. This took place in the presence of the President of the University, Prof. Moaddi bin Muhammad Aal Madh-hab, at the emirate’s headquarters in Jeddah.
The memorandum relates to educational, training and research aspects. It was signed by the Deputy Health Minister for Human Resources, Mr. Abdul-Rahman Al-Aiban, and the Vice President of Umm Al-Qura University for Educational Affairs, Dr. Amer Al-Zaidi.
The memorandum provides for the development of human cadres with regard to education and training, the provision of study seats for the Ministry of Health employees for the dispatch program, and field training opportunities in hospitals for the students of Umm Al-Qura University. This is in addition to participation in research and studies and other activities that contribute to the development of cooperation and the exchange of experience.
The signing of the memorandum between the two sides comes due to Umm Al-Qura University being a scientific institution and a beacon of knowledge in the academic field, providing research, consulting and training services thanks to its capabilities manifested in scientific research centers, colleges, and specialized institutes. This is also a result of the vision of the Ministry of Health to develop human resources, in fulfillment of its mission of providing medical services to citizens and residents as well as its role in providing rehabilitation and education programs for human cadres.
The Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Governor of the Makkah Region, His Royal Highness Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, witnessed the signing of four contracts of the agreement. These aim to enable pharmacy and nursing technicians to obtain a bachelor’s degree and to offer a master's degree in clinical pharmacy, a master's degree in midwifery, and a master's in community health nursing.
The four contracts were signed between the two sides by the Director General of Academic Affairs and Training in the Ministry of Health, Ahmad Al-Fuhaid, and the Dean of the Applied College at Umm Al-Qura University, Dr. Salih Al-Furaih.
The President of Umm Al-Qura University, Prof. Moaddi bin Muhammad Aal Madh-hab, said that the university seeks to strengthen cooperation with government and private sectors in various fields to develop their knowledge and skills through professional practice in the work environment and to provide scientific research and consultancy in this field. He emphasized the university's keenness and interest in developing its academic programs at various university levels in line with the development plans in the education sector within the objectives of the Saudi Vision 2030. It is noteworthy that the university has started these steps through the Program Transformation Initiative.
