Wadi Makkah Board of Directors Holds 5th Meeting and Reviews Future Plan

Members of Board of Directors of Wadi Makkah reviewed last year achievements and the company's five-year plan 2022 during the 5th meeting headed by the UQU President and Chairman of the Company's Board of Directors Dr. Bakri bin M'atooq bin Bakri Assas. Present in the meeting were UQU Vice President for Academic Development and Community Service who serves also as the UQU Vice President for Business and Innovation Dr. Hani bin Osman Ghazi and the CEO of the Company Dr. Faisal bin Ahmed Al-Alaf. The meeting took place at the company's meeting hall At the university campus in Abdyia on Wednesday Sha'ban 7, 1438 H.

 

At the commencement of the meeting Dr. Assas welcomed the members of the board of directors from both the public and private sectors indicating that the company will continue its blessed march as part of the keenness of the wise leadership to support knowledge-based economy in our blessed country and to keep pace with the technology and knowledge era the world is currently witnessing in all fields in accordance with the Kingdom Vision 2030. He said the company contributes to turning innovations into commercial products and startups and that it takes pride of serving pilgrims by its technology products related to Hajj and Umrah system for its location near the Holy Sites and the Grand Mosques. In the last Hajj season, he added the company signed many contracts related to services provided for pilgrims including; Shuttle Transport Follow-up System and Manasikna Application which offers a package of services and information which helps pilgrims to perform their rituals easily, in addition to the indoor navigation project in the Grand Mosque.    

     

For his part, CEO of the Company Dr. Faisal Al-Alaf said the meeting discussed several topics within its agenda including;  draft of the financial statements of the year 2016 and achieved profits during the last year, the company's five-year plan 2022, and the achievements of the company in transferring the university innovations into products and startups amounting to 10 companies. He went on to add that clients of the Wadi Makkah startups  have reached more than 17 in both public and private sectors with sales exceeding SR 15 million. 


After that, the members of the Board of Directors toured through the e-sensors factory, where they listened to an elaborate account by the Director of Public Relations and Media at the company Dr. Majid Abdullah on the work methods in the factory and how e-sensors work. It followed that they viewed a presentation on Wadi Makkah startups and the technology products they offer. Those companies include; Indoor Navigation Company (Navibees), Smart Cities Company (Averos), Medical Technologies Company (Softcare), Tawseel Company, Digital Data Analysis Company (Lucidya), Medical Laboratories Company(BioKubes), and Smart Control Company (Breez).
