Introductory Meeting for Internship Students of the Academic Year 1443 A.H. at the College of Pharmacy

The College of Pharmacy at Umm Al-Qura University held an introductory meeting for the students of the sixth year, the internship year, for the academic year 1443 A.H. to edify them on the available assessment methods and training programs to pass their training easily and successfully. The meeting was held in the presence of the Dean of the College, Dr. Umaimah Al-Hajj, the Vice Dean for Educational Affairs, Dr. Adnan Al-Harbi, and a number of academic staff members.

On her part, Dr. Umaimah Al-Hajj considered the internship students as ambassadors of the university and bearers of the beacon of knowledge; they are able to apply their scientific knowledge in the work environment with high excellence and professionalism in performing tasks and dealing with patients, reflecting the lauded efforts of the academic staff throughout the different academic years up to the internship year. She also stressed that the college worked to develop its programs offered to students by developing training plans and enrichment activities that contributed to harnessing their skills and equipping them with the necessary communication tools.

Meanwhile, the Dean of the College explained that the internship year focuses on bridging the scientific gains with their application in various workplaces through the development of applied skills among students and training them to work individually and collectively. This is in addition to increasing their self-confidence, thanks to professional practice and interaction with colleagues and supervisors, as well as familiarizing them with work pressures, being well-prepared to address them and ready to face them in all situations. She also called on students to keep abreast of the latest developments in pharmacology, and increase their scientific and cognitive achievements in this field.

During the meeting, the students were acquainted with their rights along with the internship year guide, and the admission procedures and evaluation methods were explained. There was also an introduction of the training courses offered by practicing academic staff at the College of Pharmacy as well as the optional courses and the ways to apply to them.
