UQU Vice President Opens Scout Camp at Abdyia Campus

Vice President of Umm Al-Qura University Dr. Yassir bin Suleiman launched scouts camping of the scout clubs on Thursday Sha'ban 1, 1438 H at the university campus in Abdyia including 90 boy scouts, in the presence of the Dean of Students Affairs Dr. Taha bin Amro Al-Saggaf. The Head of scouting activity at Makkah Education office Mr. Nabeel Tayeb and the Students Affairs Vice Deans. 


Upon his arrival to the camp, Dr. Shoushou cut the ribbon marking its inauguration and toured inside the camp. After that, the ceremony started with a Quranic recitation and was followed by the speech of the Dean of Students Affairs, Dr. Taha bin Amro Al-Saggaf who said the establishment of scouts headquarters comes within the support provided by the Deanship of Students Affairs for the students activities in line with the directives of the UQU President Dr. Bakri bin M'atooq bin Bakri Assas, adding that the camp is designed to organize national, environmental and scouting programs,  besides boosting youth skills and honing their talents to enable them to offer quality and purposeful community programs. He extended his sincere thanks and appreciation to UQU Vice president Dr. Yassir Shoushou for his honorable attendance in the opening of the scouts camp. He also extended his thanks to vice deans and affiliates of the Deanship of Students Affairs. 


For his part, the UQU Vice President Dr. Shoushou said scouts club is one of the oldest clubs in the university with siginificant contributions in serving community and pilgrims in Hajj seasons. Such clubs he explained, contribute to instilling values and social responsibility through its undertaken community role. He then lauded support and directives of the UQU President Dr. Bakri Assas, praising also the efforts exerted by Deanship of Students Affairs, Vice Deanships and all staff for intensifying extracurricular activities of the students.
