Third year female students at the Department of Physiotherapy, College of Applied Medical Sciences, visited the Twenty-Ninth Female Secondary School in Makkah Al-Mukarramah on Wednesday, 13 Rajab, 1440 A.H., at 10 a.m. The visit aimed at educating female students about the disease of rickets and how to prevent it. Themes that were tackled in the visit included the definition of and an introduction about rickets disease, its relation to lack of Vitamin D, and its increased incidence in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. A video at https: //mawdoo3. com entitled "Rickets: causes, symptoms and repercussions" was played. Children are the most vulnerable to rickets. Importance of early detection. Treatment: physiotherapist's role and prevention. The topic was well-prepared and explained by all the female students participating in the visit. They also distributed some brochures that contain educative information that explained rickets in a very simple way. They distributed these brochures among the female students, teachers, and headmistress. Intervals: Some snacks and medals in the shape of a skeleton were distributed. The visit ended at 11:30 a.m. This visit was prepared by female students under the supervision of Dr. Muhammad Ibrahim Salim. The event was carried out at the Twenty-Ninth Female Secondary School.
