Abstract
This study investigates the use of artificial intelligence (AI) applications in the rehabilitation of individuals with disabilities, with particular focus on their role in case assessment. The study employed a descriptive design and adopted a sample-based social survey approach. A simple random sample of 142 employees working in rehabilitation centers for individuals with disabilities in Makkah region participated in the study. Data were collected using a questionnaire. The findings revealed that the level of AI use in case assessment was high. On the other hand, the level of training and professional development related to the various uses of AI in the work of staff at care and rehabilitation centers for persons with disabilities was moderate. The participants also reported a high level of AI use in improving the quality of services provided by these centers. At the same time, they identified several challenges associated with the use of such technologies, particularly the limited awareness of the importance of integrating AI techniques and applications into professional practice. In light of these findings, the study recommends raising staff awareness of the importance and benefits of AI technologies and applications. It also calls for greater investment in training and professional development to better prepare personnel working in these centers.
