Abstract

This study aimed to develop a proposed program from the perspective of professional social work practice to enhance university students' awareness of intellectual security. The study examined students' level of awareness, the role of social workers in promoting intellectual security, the impact of university activities in this context, and identified key challenges hindering the achievement of intellectual security within the university environment. The study employed a social survey methodology using a sample of 315 randomly selected students from the College of Social Sciences at Umm Al-Qura University. A structured questionnaire was used to assess cognitive and emotional awareness, the role of university activities, and the contribution of social workers. Data were analyzed using statistical methods, including Cronbach's alpha for reliability and one-way analysis of variance (One-Way ANOVA). The findings indicated a high level of students' awareness of intellectual security, alongside a low level of participation in relevant university activities. The study also emphasized the pivotal role of social workers in raising students’ awareness, correcting misconceptions, and fostering critical thinking. The study recommended the development of engaging academic and awareness programs, the enhancement of student activities, and the intensification of professional social work interventions to support a university environment that fosters intellectual security.
