Transformation and Figures of Mamluk Folklore Studies in Egypt

Abstract

This research paper is aimed to monitor the development of Mamluk Studies, and highlighting the folklore of that era, which, in turn, is signified by a new fresh start, for deciphering the history of Mamluk via studying and analyzing the domestic folklore rich in its concepts, behavior, relations and rebellion against the authority, in addition to, presenting various visions about the issue regarding the ever increasing fresh studies done in this field.
In this regard, this paper is aimed to include many central points:
First, tracking the Mamluk classic path from the 19th century to the Academic studies, achieved about Mamluk, as a whole.
Paying much attention, to certain literary points in regard with folklore in the era of Mamluk by the pioneers’ generation, graduated in Arabic Department, which made it easier for other researchers, to indulge in the field the historical studies, being more credible compared with the official history, and the political circumstances, behind the scene.
